B. M. CLARK CO., INC. began in 1924 by Bryan Clark in a small shop at "Hills Mills" in Appleton, Maine. Bryan built various types of truck bodies and logging equipment. He was very successful in all his endeavors. Bryan spent a lot of time in the northern woods of Maine working with the loggers in the area. Bryan also moved to a larger facility in Union, Maine around the late 1940s.
In 1960, Bryan asked his son, Randall Clark, to move back from California and take over the business. Randall began building the business with new products, such as snow plows and bulk feed trailers and bodies. Randall did continue doing the work that his father had established including working with the loggers of northern Maine, such as the Pelletier Bros. (Television's "AMERICAN LOGGERS") of Millinocket, Maine. Randall became very close to the father, Gerald Pelletier.
The bulk feed trailer and body part of the business exploded into a very big part of the business. Randall would go out on the road selling his products and even fix a competitor's trailer/body if he could. He sold to Perdue Farms, Tyson, and many other poultry & hog industry leaders. In quieter times, Randall sold to the country of Libya 40-40' bulk feed trailers and all of the replacement parts they would ever need. When the 40 trailers were taken to the port of Newark, N. J., it was a sight to see! Randall was in Tripoli, Libya when the Libyan air force shot down two of our planes. Randall immediately left Tripoli for Italy - never to return again
Randall expanded the production area with two new bays during the 1970s.
Randall began having health problems in the mid 1990s, there were several management changes. Randall's wife, Suzanne, took over the operation when Randall passed away.
B. M. CLARK CO., INC. expanded their offerings to include Roll-off Dumpsters and Compaction Receiver Bodies and have been kept very busy ever since. We are continuing with the heavy truck/trailer equipment repair and refurbishing, and refurbishing the older models of B. M. CLARK bulk feed trailers and bodies, etc.
We have a division for custom painting both commercial and private trucks and vehicles. This division is growing and becoming a big part of our business. Our painting crews are proud of their work as are the production crew.
